Change your choice
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. It reopens whichever consent interface is running on the site and lets you change or withdraw your choice. It is a working control, not a decorative one — if it ever fails to open anything, that is a bug and reporting it to [email protected] would be a favor.
What a cookie is here
A small file a site asks your browser to keep, so that something can be remembered between page loads. Local storage does a similar job by a different mechanism, and this policy covers both.
Nothing non-essential is set until you choose
Google Consent Mode v2 is set to denied for advertising and analytics storage in the <head> of every page on this site, before any tag has a chance to run. Analytics loads only after you accept. If you reject, or if you simply never answer, nothing beyond the strictly necessary is written.

These do not require consent under article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, because without them either the site cannot be delivered or the choice you have already made cannot be honored.

IP anonymization is enabled. No advertising features are enabled in the Analytics property.
Advertising — not currently running
Display advertising is planned for this site and is not live yet. When it is, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure whether an ad was seen, and — only if you consent to it — to personalize which ads you see. This table will be completed with the specific cookies before the first ad is served, and consent will be collected through a consent management platform certified against IAB TCF v2.2.

Articles on this site link out to primary sources — agencies, national laboratories, regulators. Following one of those links takes you to a site with its own cookie practices, over which this one has no control.
Blocking cookies yourself
Every browser can block or delete cookies: look for Privacy in its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will mean the consent panel asks you again on every page, since remembering your answer is exactly what one of them does.
